MEC Mekgwe urges the community to donate to the needy

The Gauteng Health and Social Development MEC Ntombi Mekgwe urges Gauteng citizens to support the work of the Gift of the Givers foundation in support of the people of Libya and Japan in their hour of need.

The Gift of the Givers foundation is the largest disaster relief organisation origin on the African continent.

The South African doctors, including five Libyan doctors studying in South Africa, have been treating patient after patient at from the battlefield. Injuries range from gunshots to shrapnel wounds. 

The foundations welcome donations of emergency supplies such as food, blankets or medical supplies.

"We urge the citizens of Gauteng to donate generously and help those in dire need be it locally or abroad," says MEC Mekgwe.
