Gauteng Health and Social Development MEC Ntombi Mekgwe is saddened by the news that a father and his seven-year-old triplets tragically passed on in Betrams, Johannesburg yesterday morning.
The father, Mandla Nkosi, passed away trying to save the lives of his children, Sindi, Sindiswa and Sindisile, when a fire erupted inside a garage where they lived with another family.
Upon hearing the news, MEC Mekgwe dispatched a team of social workers to provide psycho-social support to the bereaved mother Khonzekile Dumakude and relatives. The team will also assess the family’s needs and assist where possible.
MEC Mekgwe sends her condolences to the Nkosi and Dumakude families. “My prayers are with you and I will continue to pray and ask the Lord to give you strength to deal with this loss,” says MEC Mekgwe.
