MEC Mazibuko congratulates law enforcers for abortive e-toll illegal protest

The MEC for Gauteng Community Safety Ms Faith Mazibuko congratulates the Law enforcers for clamping down the planned illegal e-tolling protest march to take place today which claims that the tollgates are an injustice against motorist or road users.

Acknowledging the good work done by law enforcement agencies, MEC Mazibuko appeals to any who wish to march or protest to do so in a legitimate manner by applying for permission.

MEC further wants to remind marches or protestors to refrain from incidents of damage to property and intimidation “I Urge anyone who wish to engage in a march or public protest to do so in accordance with necessary prescripts, the Gathering Act 203 of 1993, section 2(1) (a). South Africa is not a banana republic where everyone does as he pleases. In the event of civil disobedience, law enforcers will not hesitate to act”, said MEC Mazibuko.
