The Department of Education adheres to the key message that “Education is a Societal Matter” meaning that Education is everybody’s business. It is in this regard that stakeholders heed to the request to support learners as they prepared for their final examinations.
MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya urged stakrholders, parents and communities to rally behind learners during this important period of their academic lives. "The 12 years haven’t been easy for some of our learners and everybody’s support was highly appreciated as they come to the end of their basic education years"
As the 2024 National Senior Certification comes to an end, the department can confirm that the examinations went smoothly and all registered Full-time and part-time, 124 630 candidates sat for the final examinations.
MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya, would like to thank educators, parents, guardians, the education community and stakeholders for the support given to candidates, as this clearly demonstrate the commitment to the future of the children and that indeed education is a pre-condition for development.
‘The support went a long way in showing and proving that Limpopo cares about the future of its children. As a department we are grateful for support and care, Na Matshelo. Together as a province we can achieve our vision of Excellence in provisioning of innovative quality basic education ”. MEC said
As the year comes to an end and schools closing, parents and guardians are encouraged to keep their children safe by monitoring their movements on a daily basis. The department is also strongly advising against pens down parties or any form of celebration that will endanger the lives of our children. Learners are advised to keep safe as 2025 academic year is just around the corner.
‘We agree that the completion of 12 years of schooling and moving into a higher grade is a milestone worth celebrating, however we advise learners against pens down parties, and encourage safe and responsible celebrations.’ MEC encouraged.
The 2024 National Senior Certificate results will be announced on 14 January 2025.
