MEC Masualle's end of year message

I take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a glorious festive season and a splendid New Year.

I would have loved to deliver this message personally to all of you during our annual end of year function, but due to financial constraints and our commitment to serving our people at all times, it makes it impossible for us to meet.

We are still reeling from the effects of the recession which we faced as a country and we should thus lead by example and not splurge the public funds when so many of our people need services.

During the break, we should hold each other in thought and come back rejuvenated. Let our resolutions for next year encompass our pledge to embrace the Batho Pele principles unconditionally. I urge all of you to look after yourselves and not let harm befall you.

Let us remember that our people rely on the services that our department renders at this crucial time.

To those who will work throughout the festive period, continue to keep the lights of hope alive and save as many lives as possible. Once again, enjoy the time you will spend with your families.

Happy holidays
