Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, MPL Thandiswa Marawu has conveyed a message of condolences to the bereaved families that lost their loved ones in a tragic road accident between King Williams Town and Stutterheim on Saturday night.
She further called upon drivers, especially public transport vehicles drivers, to continue to exercise caution when using our roads.
MEC Marawu has further called upon all provincial traffic law enforcement agencies to seriously consider the introduction of the Woza Re-test project in the province. The project is currently being piloted by the Road Traffic Management Corporation, but has not yet been introduced in the Eastern Cape.
It promotes the cancellation of drivers licenses of all those involved in serious road accidents. After losing their licences, offending drivers are expected to go through a re-test process.
