MEC for Transport, Roads and Public Works, Thandiswa Marawu has appealed to Port St’Johns Junior Secondary school learners to take care of their school.
The MEC was speaking during the official launch of her adoption of the schools at Port St’Johns Junior Secondary school premises. She told the learners to chase away people who will attempt to use it for criminal activities.
As part of her adoption of that school, MEC Marawu will do the following renovations: plumbing of educators and learners’ toilets, fencing of the school, Installation of internet access, conversion of hall into two classrooms and computer lab.
Port St’ Johns Junior Secondary School is one of three schools that have been adopted by MEC Marawu to renovate. The other schools include Ntshilini Secondary School (Ngqeleni) and Sbabalwe Junior Secondary School (Ugie).
She promised the Port St’ Johns Mayor, the school principal, parents and learners that she will come back and officially hand over the school when the renovations are complete.
