North West MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison Nono Maloyi has instructed the Public Safety senior management to develop plans on how the department is going to attend issues raised on the recent Auditor General’s report.
The Auditor General raised issues that included failure to reach targets set by the department, failure to provide evidence on issues reported including those involving procurement and vacant administrative positions that are not yet filled.
Addressing the senior managers during the Road Traffic Management Information sharing workshop today in Rustenburg, Maloyi said all facts that would be on the action plan must form part of every senior manager’s performance agreement.
“We are going to work hard to ensure that we get a clean audit report and if people fail to deliver as expected from them, they will be subjected to discipline,” warned Maloyi.
Maloyi said the Auditor General’s recommendations must be implemented without exceptions.
