Acting MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison, Dr Magome Masike commends government departments for the prompt counselling and support that they gave the grieving Mogorosi family of Magogoe Koi-Koivillage outside Mafikeng. This follows the untimely death of their daughter, Onkarabetse Gorogang who was knocked down by a bakkie on Friday morning.

Social workers had also counselled Onkarabetse’s classmates, educators and entire learners at Lotlamoreng Primary School in Tloung Section and will also repeat the exercise on Monday next week. Dr Masike, who is also the provincial MEC for Health, examined Onalerona Radebe from her hospital bed. He has hailed the Grade 6 learners who aspire to be a lawyer as a selfless, courageous heroine and a road safety ambassador who risked her life trying to save the life of another.

He also wished the two educators from Lotlamoreng Primary School, Tryphina Mosiane and Jacoline Lekitlane, both admitted to Victoria Private Hospital in Mafikeng after being traumatised by the incident, a speedy recovery.
