MEC Ismail Vadi extends condolences to families of Alberton road accident victims

MEC Vadi expresses his condolence to the families of the deceased who perished on the N12

This morning a heavy duty vehicle carrying a petrol tanker collided into multiple vehicles on the N12 in Alberton, Ekurhuleni. It is believed that two people have died on the scene and many others are injured. One critically injured patient was airlifted to hospital. The cause of the accident is not known and the area has been declared a crime scene with both the police and traffic officials present.

MEC Ismail Vadi has expressed his utter shock and dismay at this fatal accident involving so many vehicles. He extends his condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes those in critical condition a full recovery.

“During October Transport Month particularly we expect all drivers to exercise caution on our roads. This incident is unfortunate and should not be tolerated.”

“We cannot over emphasise the growing importance of road safety. Our appeal is that all motorists, and taxi, bus and truck drivers in particular, exercise greater care on our roads and respect for the rights and lives of others,” he added.
