Society owes its gratitude to teachers, for one good teacher in a lifetime may sometimes change a delinquent into a solid citizen. These are the words of wisdom from MEC for Education Ishmael Kgetjepe.
The MEC was addressing top management of the department, circuits and districts managers, guests from across the country and most important guests of the Provincial chapter of the National Teachers Awards (NTA), the teachers in Polokwane yesterday.
Teachers from all corners of the Province witnessed the event which was meant to thank and recognised teachers who go extra miles in their work hence contributing positively in building shining future of the young people. The NTA has been introduced 15 years ago and the 16th event was even better as the initiative and creativity of teachers continue to grow.
EC Kgetjepe also congratulated the contenders and indicated that having making it to the final stage is an indication of dedication and hard work. Representing the sponsors, Mr T Keetse of the Old Mutual extended the hand of financial support to teachers.
