MEC Helen Sauls-August has welcomed the arrest of five cops in a drug bust undercover operation by East London Crime Intelligence Unit.
East London Crime Intelligence received information concerning members of Mdantsane Crime Prevention allegedly involved in the recovery of drugs during official operations, but never handed them to SAP 13 for official disclosure as required by law.
“We welcome this arrest and applaud police officers who had courage to arrest their colleagues and bring them to book. This will help rid the service of corrupt elements that compromise integrity of the service. “We also warn other members in the service not to compromise integrity of the service by being involved in criminal elements.
