MEC Gaoage Molapisi announces resumption of road construction project from Molelema to Matsheng, Taung

MEC for Public Works and Roads, Gaoage Oageng Molapisi has officially announced the resumption of the construction for road project from Molelema to Matsheng in Taung.

The project has been on hold due to a dispute between the Department of Public Works and Roads and the Contractor, which has since been resolved. A decision to resume construction follows  extensive deliberations for improved service delivery.

MEC Molapisi said that “Government officials should at all times strive to resolve disputes between appointed contractors and the Department expeditiously , to avoid unnecessary delays in the completion of projects”.

The road project will be completed within an eight months period at a revised value , and will create job opportunities for community members in general, and SMMEs in particular.

“Noting the delay on this project, I am placing a huge responsibility on all of us to take responsibility to allow works to proceed uninterrupted. Instead of us being obstacles to the timeous completion of projects, we need to become enablers and assist in further protecting our infrastructure” added MEC Molapisi
