MEC Gaolaolwe meets with Kgosi Gareolwele Moiloa of Borakalalo village in fast tracking service delivery

The MEC for Local Government and Human Settlements in Bokone Bophirima Galaletsang Gaolaolwe met with Kgosi Gareolwele Moiloa of Borakalalo and his executive to discuss fast tracking service delivery issues which amongst others, are issues of water and housing development for the area.

When addressing the delegates, MEC Gaolaolwe committed the department to eradicating housing backlogs in Borakalalo. She also announced that the department would built at least 50 houses in the area and that the contractor had already been introduced to the municipality. “We expect the project to kick start any time soon. Our focus is in line with one of the five concretes adopted by the current administration, i.e. villages, townships and small dorpies (VTSD) approach which is biased towards development. We also want to acknowledge that water is a challenge in Ramotshere Moiloa local municipality and it is an issue we are working on ’’, she said.

Some of the challenges that were raised during the meeting were inclusion of roads within the community, graveyard improvements, reduction of crime as well as provision of emergency services which MEC Gaolaolwe said will escalate some of the problems mentioned to relevant departments.
