Suspensions in the Metro Municipalities
The MEC for the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) FD Xasa confirms that he is aware of the suspensions that have taken place in the Buffalo City and Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipalities (NMBM).
“It is our firm conviction that the suspensions are done in good faith in the interest of good governance. We applaud the municipal leadership for being decisive in this regard,” said Cogta Xasa.
He added that these were just precautionary suspensions and the affected officials remain innocent until proven guilty.
The leadership of the affected municipalities should move speedily with the investigation processes to bring these matters to rest, said MEC Xasa.
