More than ten cyclists lead by the provincial tourism ambassador who is also a renowned television presenter and hip-hop artist Tshepo Stoan Seate arrived in Mafikeng today, after traveling more than 350 kilometers from Gauteng. The team was welcomed by MEC Desbo Mohono and other senior government officials at the Mmabatho Hotel School around midday.
The main objective of the tour from Johannesburg to Mafikeng was mainly to plough back to some of the disadvantaged schools along the way. The Team passed through small dorpies of Rustenburg, Swartruggens and Zeerust, identifying disadvantaged schools, which they committed to assist. The gesture by the team, was also to celebrate Seate’s 40th birth day and celebrate his 20th year in the music industry. The programme is called Ikgate Motlhala phenomenon, celebrated under the theme “Lets build the legacy”.
“What Stoan is doing through his Ikgate Motlhala Project, should be a wake-up call to other artists who are making it big in the arts industry. This is also a call to others celebrities and others people who have made it big in their respective industries to remember where they come from. I therefore challenge them to came back home and plough back to their communities”, said MEC Mohono.
The ikgate Motlhala project will end on Friday in Mafikeng where the team will visit another Primary school.
