MEC Albert Fritz donates personal hygiene goods to Caring4Girls campaign

Western Cape Social Development Minister, Adv. Albert Fritz, today donated sanitary packs and personal hygiene goods to the Caring4Girls campaign at the Canal Walk Dischem store, to mark the UN International Day of the Girl Child.

Minister Fritz was welcomed by the Dischem Store Manager, Mr. Wayne Sterling, and was joined by our social partners the CEO of the Community Chest, Mr. Lorenzo Davids, and Ms Cecile-Ann Pearce from the Period Projects.

The Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) has pledged ongoing support for the campaign, and in addition has enlisted the support of our social partners the Community Chest and the Period Project to initiate a broader campaign in support of the development and empowerment of the girl child and women.

DSD remains committed to creating a society based on freedom, fairness and opportunity for girls and women in the Western Cape. The public can approach any of our 40 local offices across the province or contact the department hotline on 0800 220 250. We can protect and empower our girls if we work, ‘Better Together’.
