Marauding mob arrested

MEC Lekgoro commended the police for their sterling work in apprehending those involved in an attack against Councillor Advocate Nyambe. “We are happy that the suspects have been arrested and they will appear at the Vereeniging court tomorrow. We would like to thank the police for their swift action to bring them to book” said Lekgoro. He was speaking from the hospital where he had paid a visit to the councillor. We are also happy that the councillor is recovering very well.

The MEC is accompanied by the MEC Faith Mazibuko. They also paid a visit to Councillor Nyambe Children. Meanwhile the police have arrested 125 people who were allegedly involved when the councillor was attacked. They will appear in the Vereeniging magistrate court on the charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and public violence. Eight of the 125 arrested are minors.
