The Eastern Cape Provincial Government is investigating the origins of a distasteful, disrespectful and false video posting that is currently circulating on You Tube and other media websites depicting a person “claimed” to be Premier Noxolo Kiviet by the poster, “drunk at a bar in East London.”
The government wishes to condemn in the strongest possible terms this irresponsible. The person on the video is not Premier Kiviet, and the culprit who posted it should be brought to book. Only the culprit knows what his intentions are, but this act is disrespectful and malicious and we will not let him get away with it. Premier Kiviet is a respected leader and mother and her image should not be subjected to outrageous social network jokes.
The provincial government wants to caution social network users not to abuse the dignity of other citizens in social networks. Social networks are there for people to share information and keep in contact with each other not to harm other people.
