The Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, has commended the Gauteng’s sport fraternity and communities for their massive participation in the nomination process for the 2012 Gauteng Sport Awards.
The deadline for nomination closed on Friday, 25 May 2012 after the deadline was extended from Tuesday, 22 May.
“I am humbled by the response received during the nomination process and this reassures us that the people of Gauteng do indeed value the talent, achievements and contribution of our sport stars. The next stage is the adjudication process and the announcement of the finalists on the 7th of June, “ said MEC Maile.
Finalists in 13 of the 14 categories will be announced on the 7th of June with the main event taking place on the 30th of June at Emperor Palace.
