Limpopo on Executive Council reshuffle and appointment of Executive Council

Over the past twelve months of the current term of office Limpopo provincial government has been hard at work to improve delivery of services to the people of Limpopo. The focus was largely on the building of corporative governance that had almost collapsed before December 2011.

The decision of the Cabinet to reconsider the implementation of Section 100 (1) (b) of the Constitution in Limpopo attests to the fact the current leadership rose to the occasion in carrying out its constitutional mandate, especially the restoration of corporative governance and financial management systems.

On the other hand we are still recovering from the untimely loss of one of our own, Mme Thembi Nwedamutswu, the former MEC for Education, who passed on at the beginning of the year. We owe our sustained improvement in Grade 12 results to her sterling performance and that of her predecessors. May her Soul Rest in peace!

In this regard the Premier extends his sincere words of thanks to the people of Limpopo for allowing us to mourn this outstanding daughter of the soil, and more importantly, their patience so that he makes the appropriate replacement at the right time.

“It is my pleasure to report that the assessment and evaluation of the performance of the entire Executive Council of Limpopo has been finalised, and I have come to a conclusion that there is need to effect the necessary changes to the Executive Council,” said the Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha.

“I have got no doubt that these changes will add value to our commitment to accelerate delivery of services to our people and ensure an improvement in the overall administration of the provincial government”, emphasised the Limpopo Premier, Mathabatha.
