Limpopo Education on learners from Tanani Primary School in bus accident

Learners checked and released from hospital           

Grade 6 learners from Tanani Primary School, Mopani District, who were rushed to hospital following a bus that overturned have been checked and released from hospital yesterday and are back at school today.

The learners were travelling from a science excursion in Giyani Science Centre, back to their school, which is in Homu 14A village when the accident happened.

38 learners were treated on the scene and 25 were rushed to hospital where they immediately received medical attention and released.

The department is relieved that there were no fatalities and learners did not sustain serious injuries in this accident. Counselling for learners has been arranged for today and tomorrow following this traumatic experience.
