In an effort to drastically reduce payment backlogs, long queues and to accommodate clients who cannot visit our offices during the normal office hours to access our services, Garankuwa Labour Centre started to operate on weekends starting today 5 September 2015.
The centre has long been plagued by long queues as members of the public wait to be serviced.
Saturday: 5, 12, 19 and 26 September 2015
Sunday: 6, 13, 20 and 27 September 2015
Opening and closing hours for serving clients will be from 8am to 4pm.
The reality of the backlogs at the Centre has led to client dissatisfaction with the service, resulting in some sleeping there so that they can be first in the queue the following day. This necessitated this major effort to quicken the provision of service delivery, a need to alleviate the plight of clients and to wipe out the backlogs by providing them with extra opportunities.
The dates mentioned will undoubtedly be of benefit to clients and the department’s staff. These will include having more staff available on weekends to address service delivery demands in the front line. Our clients will spend less time in queues.
