Labour Ministry appoints Zondi as new spokesman

Musa Zondi, an award-winning journalist and former spokesman for the South African Police Service (SAPS) Hawks unit, has been appointed the new spokesman for the Ministry of Labour.

Zondi replaces Mzobanzi Jikazana. He is a seasoned journalist who started his journalism career in 1988 at the Weekly Mail, which was followed by the successful stint at the Sowetan, as sub-editor, an award-winning columnist, motoring editor, assistant news editor and as editor-at-large. Zondi has also worked at Daily Sun.

He has contributed to international newspapers like the Irish Times as well as providing commentary on news services such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Cable News Network (CNN).

Before joining the Department of Labour, Zondi was a Media Liaison Officer in the department of Mineral Resources. He holds a BA Journ (Hons) from Wits University, a journalism diploma from Thomson Foundation, a diploma from the Scandinavian Institute of Management and a Human Resources Diploma from Damelin.
