Bopape allegedly accused of defrauding Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund set to plead
The Pretoria Magistrate’s Court today (12 September) set the plea and trial date for Ms Mapitse Tebogo Bopape from Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria who is allegedly accused of defrauding the Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund.
Bopape (32), is an Orthotist in private practice by profession. Bopape is accused of defrauding the Department’s Compensation Fund of R46 500,00.
She is out on a warning.
Magistrate Francis today postponed the trial date for 08 October 2018.
The Compensation Fund is a public entity under the administration of Department of Labour. The Fund’s mandate is to administer the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by workers, or for death resulting from such injuries or diseases, and provide for matters connected therewith.
