The labour court turned down an urgent interdict by the Director-General of the Limpopo Provincial Government, Dr Nelly Manzini to stop the disciplinary inquiry against her.
However, the court granted Dr Manzini an urgent interim relief for the upliftment of her suspension. This follows her urgent application to stop the disciplinary inquiry and get her suspension uplifted by the court on Wednesday, 29 September 2010.
The disciplinary inquiry instituted by the Office of the Premier against Dr Manzini is proceeding. In actual fact, on Thursday, 7 October 2010 Dr Manzini will make her next appearance.
On 17 August 2010, Dr Manzini was put on precautionary suspension as a consequence of the workload she had to attend to in the office while at the same time appearing before the disciplinary inquiry.
The disciplinary inquiry in question pertains to the matter that was raised by the Auditor-General and the provincial Standing Committee on Public Accounts in 2006.
However, it is hoped that the disciplinary inquiry will be finalised on or before 14 October 2010.
