The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development would like to apologise for the inconvenience that may have been caused by the delayed payment of maintenance beneficiaries at the Johannesburg Family Court. For the past few days the department experienced challenges in the system, but has since resolved the technical glitches.
The Johannesburg family Court has 24 000 beneficiaries on the database of which 6 500 cases are paid via internet banking and the rest are direct payments. All new orders granted are paid directly into the applicants' bank accounts.
All payments were processed at the Johannesburg court during down time period. The Department is now processing payments for the 15th of November 2013. We are pleased to announce that there are no backlogs at the Johannesburg Family Courts.
The Department is committed to improve its systems and ensure that in line with its turnaround strategy, rightful beneficiaries are paid in time.
