Justice Ministry and Department welcome arrests made
Last month Magistrate Nkhensani Victor Mabunda was shot and killed in the driveway of his home in Bronkhorstspruit upon his return from the Cullinan Magistrates’ Court. Two suspects were subsequently arrested last week and appeared in the Bronkhorstspruit Court. A further arrest was made over the weekend, with the alleged “hitman” appearing in the Bronkhorstspruit Court today.
The Department and Ministry commend the SAPS, in particular its dedicated investigative task team, on the swift action taken and the arrests made. It also commends the community for working closely with the SAPS and providing information that led to the arrests.
Government views any attack on members of the judiciary in a very serious light and trusts that those found responsible will face the full might of the law.
