The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development has learnt with great sadness about the unexpected death of former Chief Justice Pius Langa.
Committee Chairperson, Mr Luwellyn Landers, said this was a great loss to the South African law fraternity and the country in general. “The former chief justice was one of the best legal minds, a dedicated human rights jurist,” said Mr Landers. He will be remembered for his sterling contribution to the transformation of justice in South Africa.
The Committee would like to express its sympathies and condolences to the family of the former chief justice.
