The Electoral Commission of South Africa has noted the contents of Justice Wepener’s judgment in the matter of the United Democratic Movement and others versus the Chairperson of the Commission, Advocate Pansy Tlakula.
The Commission notes that as per the recommendations of the judgment and the prescripts of the Electoral Commission Act (51 of 1996) the matter is now in the hands of Parliament.
The Commission will await the outcome of this process.
