The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in collaboration with Department of Education hosted a sporting event on 12 February 2011 at Hlogotlou Stadium for learners from various schools in the Moutse West Cluster.
After the conclusion of the event and on the way back to various delivery points, one of the buses got involved in an accident on the Maserumule Park Road. As a result thereof, one learner passed on and eleven were admitted to various local hospitals. Two were later discharged. The driver of the bus has been arrested and police are conducting further investigations.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, 18 February 2011 at Immerpan Primary School, Mbuzini Village and the funeral will be on Sunday, 21 February 2011 at the same village.
The two departments hereby express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the affected school. We wish learners who are in hospital a speedy recovery.
