It (tournament) is held in collaboration with the six South African Football Association Structures (SAFA) structures across the regions. It seeks to strengthen the development of soccer among the youth towards 2010 and beyond. The partnership by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation is to also to use it as part of the build-up to the 2009 Soccerex later this year to be held from 28 November to 2 December.
Soccerex is the ultimate soccer business exhibition which has been held in South Africa for the past two years. Regional winners will fight it out at the provincial finals during the expo where the winners will receive trophies and medals as well as coaching clinics from the David Beckham Academy.
