Invitation to participate in an Outward Selling and Investment Mission to Ghana and Benin

The Department of Trade and Industry invites you to apply to participate in an Outward Selling and Investment Mission to Ghana and Benin from 25 June – 5 July 2013. The objective of this mission is to increase trade and investment between South Africa, Ghana and Benin.

It is an ideal platform for South African companies who would like to export value added products and services and for companies who are looking for investment opportunities in Ghana and Benin.

The target sectors for this mission include:

  • Agriculture and Agro-processing;
  • Furniture and wood processing;
  • Infrastructure (rail, road and telecoms);
  • Built environment professionals (consulting engineers, civil engineering contractors, quantity surveying and architects);
  • Energy (Oil and Gas);
  • Mining and Capital Equipment;
  • Electro technical (electronics, electrical engineers, ICT)

Companies will be screened and selected in line with EMIA guidelines and market requirements, which are explained in the EMIA guidelines document. For the approved companies, the dti will provide:

  • A subsistence allowance of R2,000 per day;
  • An economy class return airfare to a maximum of R13,000;

Companies that are not eligible for EMIA funding are welcome to participate in this mission at their own expense. Companies applying for EMIA funding for this mission need to complete and submit the EMIA application form as well as a one page profile to:
