The National Council of Provinces' Ad Hoc Committee on the Protection of State Information Bill says deliberations around the proposed legislation are on track ahead of the final stage of its processing.
According to the ad hoc Committee Chairperson, Mr Raseriti Tau, the committee will meet next week to get the clause-by-clause (of the Bill) response from the Department of State Security.
"We need responses for all the issues we raised in our submission to the department, line by line," said Mr Tau. Nevertheless, the committee appreciated the presentation on broad issues by the Department on Wednesday.
The final round of deliberations will start from Tuesday 12 until Thursday 14 June between 10h00 and 17h00. The committee's reporting deadline is 22 June 2012.
