The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa hereby gives notice to all stakeholders of its intention to commence with public consultations in relation to the draft regulations on Party Elections Broadcasts (PEB) and Political Advertisements (PA).
The purpose of the regulations is to prescribe the framework and guidelines under which PEBs and PAs shall be conducted and carried by the broadcasting service licensees, during the municipal elections in 2011. The Authority hereby invites all stakeholders to take part in this process and make written submissions on the draft regulations by the date prescribed in the regulations. The regulations will be available on the Authority’s website from Monday, 22 November 2010.
In order to intensify this consultative process, the Authority will be conducting workshops throughout the country on the draft regulations from 22 November 2010 to 14 December 2010.
