The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (the Authority) published a notice (No. 275) in Government Gazette No. 33046 on 19 March 2010 declaring its intention to make regulations in respect of a Compliance Procedure Manual and invite interested parties to submit written representations on these draft regulations.
In line with section 4(4) of the Electronic Communication Act 36 of 2005, the notice affords interested parties 30 days to make written representations on the draft regulations with the closing date for submissions set at 7 May 2010.
The authority encourages all stakeholders to make substantial comments on the published draft regulations so that the authority can come up with a well-structured compliance manual that will see all licensees becoming more compliant and effectively monitored.
