The Cacadu District won the overall best stall platinum award and Chris Hani won the best district platinum award during the annual review road show hosted by the Human Resources Development Unit (HRD) at OR Tambo District on 22 and 23 October 2009.
This was the last of the series of events held throughout the province with the intention of making sure that the Health professionals remain in the Eastern Cape province when they finish their community service.
UKhahlamba Disrict walked away with a gold medal for having the best improved stall with OR Tambo in the second place walking away with a silver award and PE Hospital Complex going home with bronze.
For the best information stall, Nelson Mandela Metro got a gold award, Alfred Nzo walked away with silver and Chris Hani with bronze.
In the best presentation category, the EL Hospital Complex went home with a gold award, Amathole got silver and Alfred Nzo walked away with bronze.
The best recruited District gold award went to Cacadu District with 135 recruits; Amathole District got a silver award with 106 recruits followed by the EL Hospital complex sitting at the third place (bronze) with 99 recruits.
The Community Service Health Professionals indicated that they were very keen to work in the Eastern Cape province as a way of ploughing back to the community.
