The Eastern Cape Health Department strongly condemns the burglaries on homes of doctors who work for the Eastern Cape Department of Health.
The department struggles to attract and retain health professionals and these heinous crimes exacerbate the situation further. Health professionals are a scarce breed and the department deplores the attacks on the doctor’s homes.
The department has full confidence in the crime fighting agencies of the state. The criminals live amongst the communities and department urges the community to expose such rotten elements.
South Africa is a fledgling democracy and these unlawful acts work against what we have fought for all these years. The department sends its regret to the doctors concerned. Let us work together to provide a better life.
