In line with the announcement by the Minister of Health Dr Aaron Motsoaledi on 13 August 2009 regarding the Department’s enhanced communication on the H1N1 influenza, the Department wishes to inform the public that the hotline will start operating on 19 August 2009. The hotline number is 0861 DOH CDC or 0861 364-232.
The hotline will provide members of the public with an opportunity to ask specific questions and request for information on the H1N1 Influenza. The line will be operated by trained personnel on communicable diseases who will in turn be supported by second line made up of experts from the Department.
Meanwhile, the Department’s dedicated e-mail address is also operational for members of the public to ask questions and request information on the H1N1 influenza. The e-mail address is H1N1@health.gov.za. Members of the public are invited to take advantage of these communication platforms to aimed at dealing with the pandemic.
