Grade 12 examinations progressed without any glitches

The Mpumalanga Department of Education is satisfied with the way the 2011 Grade 12 Examinations started in the province.

No glitches were reported as 3 426 wrote Computer Application Technology paper one (Practical) yesterday.

Today, learners will be writing Information Technology Paper one (practical).

Overall, the department has registered 49 419 full time and 6 401 part time candidates for the National Senior Certificate Examination.

The National Senior Certificate examinations started on 17 October and ends on 1 December 2011 with the writing of Religious Studies Paper two.

Marking will commence from 1 to 15 December 2011 and the results will be released on 5 January 2012.

The MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule has extended her best wishes to all learners who will be sitting for these examinations.

To this effect she said “I take this opportunity to extend our best wishes to all learners who will sit for the final examinations.

I am confident that learners have gone the extra mile to ensure that they do extremely well in their academic work, assisted by all stakeholders of the education sector.

It is prudent that every effort is put in place to ensure that learners are prepared and ready to participate in their examinations.

To achieve this, it is necessary that learners focus on their studies, stay in contact with their educators by attending their classes until the last day of the examination.

The department seeks to ensure the seamless exams administration and management as well as uphold the integrity of the examination process and its outcomes.

We request parents and community leaders to support schools and learners during this time by making it their responsibility that school programmes progress without fail.

I also request learners to make the province proud by performing outstandingly in their school work.

“Government has your interest at heart, show us your true potential and excel in your studies”
