The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) joins many in congratulating Hon. member, Mxolisi Eric Xayiya on his appointment as the new MEC of Economic Development, joining the executive of the Gauteng provincial government (GPG).
Hon. Xayiya is no stranger to government duties; he has extensive knowledge in local government and provincial government and has served diligently as chairperson in the GPL. Hon. Xayiya brings a wealth of experience with him, which undoubtedly will enable him to carry out his newly bestowed responsibility and the mammoth task lying ahead of carrying the baton, from an equally diligent member whom we lost suddenly, Hon. Nkosiphendule Kolisile.
As the GPL we believe he will do justice to the portfolio and take the department to greater heights. We wish him well in his endeavours and success and we have the utmost faith that he will hit the ground running.
