Media accreditation for the 2023 BRICS Ministers of culture session in Mpumalanga

Government through the National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government invites and requests the members of the media to apply for accreditation to cover BRICS Ministers of Culture session.

The BRICS Ministers of Culture session will be held on Friday, the 21st of July 2023 at Kruger Gate Hotel in Mpumalanga under theme, “BRICS and Africa: Strengthening Cultural Partnerships for post-pandemic socio-economic recovery and sustainable, inclusive development.”

South Africa has assumed the Chairship for BRICS 2023. As part of BRICS Chairship, the Sport, Arts and Culture, Minister Zizi Kodwa will host H.E. Margareth Menezes, Minister of Culture of the Federative Republic of Brazil; H.E. Andrei Malyshev, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation; H.E. Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for Culture of the Republic of India; and H.E. LI Qun, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China.

Minister will discuss and engage on issues around the strengthening of BRICS cultural partnerships for post-pandemic socio-economic recovery and sustainable, inclusive development. Ministers are also expected to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in the Field of Culture as a precursor to the upcoming 2023 BRICS summit. 

Members who wish to cover the signing of bilateral agreements and interact with delegates are therefore requested to complete the attached accreditation form & send it back to madimetjam@dsac.gov.za. The deadline for submission is Friday, 14 July 2023@12:00.
