Government disturbed by loss of lives in KZN bus crash

Government conveys its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the pupils that lost their lives in a dreadful bus accident on the R66 between Ulundi and Kwaceza, KwaZulu-Natal.

According to media reports, the accident happened on Tuesday night while the bus was transporting pupils from Richards Bay to Kwaceza.

Acting GCIS CEO, Phumla Williams, said, “This is an unfortunate incident. Drivers are urged to be vigilant on the road and obey all traffic laws. Vehicle safety inspections are important and should be conducted on a regular basis. Owners of public transport vehicles are particularly are urged to comply with safety regulatory standards.”

Government commends the speedy intervention of the emergency staff to the accident scene and wishes all those injured a speedy recovery.
