South Africa joins the international community in condemning the terrorist attacks in Kenya
The South African Government condemns in the strongest possible terms the killing of innocent civilians in the two recent terror attacks in Mandera County in Kenya, on 22 November 2014 in which 28 civilians were brutally killed, and the early morning attack on 2 December 2014 which claimed the lives of 36 civilians.
The Government of South Africa reiterates its stance that terrorism in any form and from whichever quarter, cannot be condoned and South Africa stands firmly with the international community in condemning all terrorism, and these acts in particular.
South Africa’s foreign policy is driven by the vision to achieve an African Continent, which is prosperous, peaceful, democratic and united. In this regard, we stand by the Government and people of Kenya during this difficult time and assure them of South Africa’s continued support in their efforts to address the scourge of terrorism in all its forms.
The Government of South Africa also extends its sympathies and deepest condolences to the Government and people of Kenya and especially the families of the deceased.
