Traffic Law Enforcement Review Committee to give feedback on review of the National Road Traffic Law Enforcement Code

The Traffic Law Enforcement Review Committee was established by the Minister of Transport to determine a new dispensation for the traffic fraternity. The Review Committee has completed their review and are due to give feedback to both private sector and public sector stakeholders at a two day summit scheduled to take place from 21-22 November 2019 at The Lakes Hotel in Benoni.

The Committee had been tasked with conducting a comprehensive assessment of the traffic law enforcement fraternity, identify areas for review and develop a consultative strategy on traffic law enforcement. Another area of consideration was the constitutional mandate and related legislative imperatives pertaining to the law enforcement environment and ensure integration, harmonisation and alignment of various functions for a transformed and professional traffic law enforcement of the 21st Century.

The feedback session will be attended by various stakeholders from the road safety, SALGA and law enforcement fraternity from all provinces and metros. Members of the media are invited to attend this session.
