MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza launches Gauteng e-Maintenance system, 22 Oct

A resounding success - e-Maintenance system goes live

Gauteng Infrastructure Development (GDID) MEC Ms Nandi Mayathula-Khoza will this evening (Wednesday) formally launch the e-Maintenance system.

Maintenance function is one of GDIDs most essential services with a budget of R1,121 billion on in its R4,9 billion budget for the current financial year.

The e-Maintenance system is the GDID home grown web based innovative IT solution done live on the website. The system allows anybody from a member of the public to hospital staffers to log a maintenance complaint to the GDID team of technicians who would access it through their mobile phones and respond. To date, the Department of Health has reported a total of 53 490 defects by staff in hospitals and clinics, and of these, 37 038 (69%) has been fixed.

The launch will also include an award ceremony for staff members who have done well during the implementation of the system.

The dress code to the event is formal (jacket and tie). The launch is done in conjunction with technical partners Vodacom, Builders Warehouse and Mustek.
