The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will hold public hearings on Disaster Management Amendment Bill on Thursday, 6 August, at Joe Gqabi Committee room (Legislature) from 8h30.
The bill aims to address the problems which were identified in the implementation of the Disaster Management Act No 57 of 2002 so that the Act can be implemented more effectively, improve the management of disasters and improve service delivery.
Members of the public are invited to attend the public hearings and make oral or written submissions to the Committee. Written submissions can be faxed to 040 639 3214 or by email: ktyhala@ecleg.gov.za. Copies of the Bill may be obtained at www.polity.co.za / www.ecleg.gov.za.
