Security assessment of any citizen is an operational function performed by South African Police Service (SAPS), not the Minister Pretoria
Contrary to media reports this morning, the National Police Commissioner, General Bheki Cele is well and in a cheerful mood.
Yesterday, Sunday, 14 August 2011, General Cele visited a local Pretoria hospital for a routine general medical check-up. He was admitted in hospital as the check-up warranted him to stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours.
During my visit to the General this morning I found him to be in a bubbly mood going through this morning’s newspapers and this is what he had to say, “I personally came to the hospital for a routine medical check-up and I walked into this medical facility unaided”. “I expect to remain in hospital for the next twelve to twenty four hours as this is how long the tests may take to be completed”, added Cele.
