The Gauteng Department of Education welcomes the judgment in the Themba Tshabalala and Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye case. We hope this judgment will provide some closure to families and friends of the affected learners.
The learner who was seriously injured is no longer of school going age. His learning abilities were severely affected. He is currently doing vocational programmes at an appropriate school. The GDE, together with its sister departments, has facilitated support to the family of the learner.
