Gauteng Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation MEC Molebatsi Bopape has expressed grief at learning of the death of influential veteran actor, Boikie Mohlamme, who passed away yesterday aged 83.
Bopape says that Mohlamme should always be remembered not only for his sterling career in theatre and television, but more importantly for his unwavering contributions to performing arts in the country.
At the time of his death, Mohlamme had been reported as one of the unionists who took to mediating in the conflict between the disgruntled Generations actors and the popular soapie’s producers.
“The industry is poorer following Ntate Boikie’s passing, we would like to extend our most sincere condolences to his family, friends, his colleagues and all those whose lives he has touched,” said Bopape.
